New positioning and scanning systems for speed and accuracy

WP5 Positioning and moving samples in the X-ray beam extremely accurately in time and space is a grand challenge faced by all fields in X-ray photon science.
Within WP5 of LEAPS-INNOV we will:
develop prototype devices for translation and rotation on the nanometre scale to enable faster and more accurate sample scanning.
develop protocols for standardised communication between and use of beamline hardware to address the challenges of synchronising multiple beamline components on the nanosecond timescale.
develop a common, pan-European, standardised set of tools and sample holders for delivering samples in solution to the X-ray beam and new modes of contactless sample delivery for room temperature experiments.
